Nagpur: Even as the ongoing development works have taken a toll on the way people commute, the concrete road construction in the arterial areas have only added to the hardships of the people. As the concrete roads have taken the level up from most of the houses constructed along it, it has given rise to the problems of water logging in the low lying areas. However the latest construction technology has the solution albeit with a dent in your pocket! Just lift your house from the ground level!

Most of you might not believe this but the latest precedent has already been set by Anand Harpal Singh a resident of Buddha Nagar Teka Naka near Kamptee road. He has lifted his house up to 3 feet with the help of 160 jacks to increase the height of the house in order to match it with the height of the newly constructed roads.
The house has been a centre of attraction for many as it is the first of its kind project which is being done in Nagpur.

Singh the owner of the house said, “For the past 4 years we had been facing the problem of water logging and then we decided to reconstruct it. However we gave a second thought to the idea of demolishing the house as we came to know about the process where we could raise the height of the house with the help of hydraulic jack system. First we saw many videos on Youtube after which we contacted Singh Building Lifting construction company from Haryana who works on such projects.

Vikas Kumar one of the member of the construction company informed that this work was earlier carried out in Saharsa, Bihar after which we appointed many workers from Bihar and had lifted the house up to one and half feet. In the coming month we will lift more houses to one and half feet which is sufficient to level up the house.

Kumar further informed that first they had to cut the wall from ground after which jack is installed with the help of iron angles. In this project a total of 16 workers are involved each given the responsibility of 10 jacks. In this process we have to cover the windows with the help of bricks to avoid the development of cracks.
In this project a total of Rs 6.5 lakhs has been estimated to lift the height of the house.
