    Investors defrauded with Rs 38 lakhs in Ambazari, 6 booked

    Nagpur: Six fraudsters were booked by Ambazari police for duping investors to the tune of Rs 38 lakh on the pretext of huge profits on investment in cigar business, police said.

    The accused have been identified as Suhas Thakur and Munna Yadav, both residents of Nandanvan, Prajwal Dhore, a resident of Nandanvan; Shriom Gautam, a resident of Pusad and Vatya, a resident of Nandanvan.

    According to complainant, Hitesh Shankarrao Bharadkar (21), a resident of Shivaji Chowk, Chandrapur, the accused lured him and others by promising huge profits in cigar business.

    The complainants had invested Rs 38 lakh in August last year. After not receiving a single penny from the investment, the complainant approached the accused but the latter threatened them with firearms, police said.

    After realising the fraud, complainants lodged a complaint. A case under Sections 420, 506 (b) and 34 of IPC was registered by Police.
