Hubby booked for forcing wife to spend night with stranger for money

Nagpur: Gittikhadan police have booked a husband for forcing his wife to spend the night with a stranger for money and for constantly harassing her. According to police, Ashwin (42) and his wife Ankita (37) (both name changed), both residents of Gittikhadan area. They married in year 2012. Since then, the accused use to harrass her for money. “He was forcing her to bring Rs 10,000 per month from her father,” police said.

On Tuesday, he took her to the premises of the District Collector’s Office in Sadar where he told her that he had borrowed Rs 10 lakh from a person. As he was unable to return the money, Ashwin pressurised Ankita to spend some nights with a stranger. When she refused, he sent some photos of her to someone on WhatsApp and morphed the pictures into obscene pictures.

Showing the pictures to Ankita, the accused allegedly threatened to defame her by showing her pornographic pictures to relatives. But the woman was firm on her decision and refused the husband. She filed a complaint against husband in the court.

On the basis of order received from the court, the police have booked the husband under provisions of Indian Penal Code. The husband is not yet arrested.
