Cops raid gambling den at Hotel Tuli International, Rs 22 lakh cash seized

Nagpur: With Diwali festivities around the gambling activities are flourishing in the city. However the cops are also on their toes to maintain law and order in the city, still the high profile gambling dens are in vogue.

In a significant action against such a spot, Sadar police have unearthed a gambling den, operated in Hotel Thuli on Thursday night. The police nabbed eight gamblers from the spot and also seized Rs 22 lakh cash, informed a source to Nagpur Today. However the official cash seizure has been reportedly put on lower side.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Aslam Sheik Husain (52), resident of Khadan Gandhibagh near Blue Diamond School, Sarabjeet Singh Surjeet Singh (36) resident of Plot. No. 171, Teka Naka, Kamptee road, Amol Janrao Dabre (35) resident of Kamal Chowk, Birendra Singh Ramendra Singh Batiya (34) resident of Raj Nagar, Amit Ajay Kakkar (35) Sukhjevan Colony, Kadabi Square, Rajendra Singh Surendra Singh Hudda (37) resident of 10 no. puliya, Sahid Mohammad Yunus Rajwani (48) resident of Maskasthan Square and Narindar Harjeetsingh Marvah (42) resident of 644, Kashmiri Gali.

Acting on the tip off, DCP Zone 2 Chinmay Pandit, PSI Sachin Mate and constabulary staff raided the spot and arrested the accused persons red handed.

Sadar police has registered an offence under Section 4,5 of the Maharashtra Gambling Act against the accused and started the probe.
