    Fake sport certificates: Nagpur cops arrest 11th suspect from Nanded

    Nagpur: In yet another proactive action, the squad of Mankapur police on Monday arrested 11th suspect – Aatish Hari Chavhan (30) — of fake sport certificates syndicate from Nanded district. Besides, the Second Capital of the State, such complaints had surfaced in Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara.

    This scam had begun in Nagpur back in 2016-17, when the Deputy Director got the power to issue the sport certificate. Around 26 beneficiaries of the Nagpur-based rackets are under the scanner, which includes government officials already selected on the basis of the fake certificates. Most of the fake certificate holders have paid hefty amounts and had never played such games for which they got the job.

    PI Krushna Shinde is leading the thorough probe into the scam, unearthing its every detail, like how the certificates were prepared and procured. On the basis of these fake certificates, candidates have been selected for senior-level posts like block education officers, inspector and sub-inspector.
