Angry mob sets vehicles on fire after speeding truck hits 3 students in Parseoni; 1 killed

An angry mob set the truck on fire after it ran over three students, killing one on the spot at Palora village under Parseoni tehsil near here. The fumed villagers also vented their ire on the trucks parked at dhaba by the road side. Badal Thakur, 14, died on the spot while other two students Vijay Khobragade and one other were reportedly critical. All the three were reportedly crossing the road when the truck knocked them down.

Parseoni thana incharge Raghuwanshi told that extra force were called from Nagpur rural police control room to tide over the situation. SP Dr. Aarti Singh also reached the spot to check the violence.

Police sources informed that the deceased Badal was going towards his school at Parseoni along with Vijay and another friend. While they were crossing the road, they could not notice the approaching truck and were immediately caught under the wheels. Soon after the incident, the crowd gathered on the spot and went on rampage, consigning the truck and other vehicles to flames. Badal succumbed to his injuries while seriously injured Vijay was rushed to Mayo hospital here. The other student is recuperating at Parseoni government hospital. All the three were studying in class 9th at Kesrimal Paliwal school. Vice-principal Pushpa Paliwal accompanied with her teaching staff also visited the injured students at both the hospitals.

Meanwhile, the situation is reportedly under control.
