Youth Congress activists express ire over deteriorating and worn out Ajni Railway Bridge

: The present condition of historic and old Ajni Railway Bridge is deteriorating and worn out. This has also become a cause of concern for many. The Ajni Railway Bridge is said to have been constructed by British engineers before Independence. The utility period is said to be over by the year 2000.

Many citizens have expressed their fear of this bridge collapsing any moment cause a major accident. The Youth Congress activists alleged that this bridge falls within the South West Constituency from which Devendra Fadnavis had contested the Vidhan Sabha polls. Yet the administration and the officials seem to be asleep over this very vital installation and pressing issue.

Keeping the welfare of the citizens and in order to bring to the notice the dilapidated condition of Ajni Railway Bridge, the activists or Youth Congress staged a protest rally on the Ajni Railway Bridge under the guidance of President of Nagpur Loksabha Youth Congress of South West Vidhan Sabha Constituency, Bunty Shelke and Secretary of Youth Congress Dilip Khairwar. During the protest rally, the Youth Congress activists had raised slogans like “Chief Minister, come to your senses”, “Is the CM sleeping?” “Reconstruct Ajni Railway bridge soon”.

The Police had to arrest Youth Congress activists Kunal Puri, Fajlur Rehman Quereshi, Sheikh Azhar, Ronald Jerome, Prashant Tannerwar and Nilesh Deshbrathar.

The office-bearers of Youth Congress who were prominently present included Praveen Pote, Rakesh Nikose, Hemant Kature, Sameer Kale, Rambhau Paradkar, Akshay Mahajan, Rushin Tambe, Amit Khairwar, Avinash Mahajan, Rajat Adbadiya, Kunal Sarwari, Sanket Adbadiya, Vikki Badel, Dhiraj Dakate, Harshal Gajeshwar, Prakash Baisware and others.
