Deceased Nikhil Bhange
Nagpur: A 29-year old man was stoned to death by his two friends in Gittikhadan area here on late Tuesday night. Old feud seems to be the motive behind the brutal murder. Both the accused murderers have been arrested.
The deceased has been identified as Nikhil Sudhakar Bhange (29), resident of Plot No. 54, Nirmal Society, Sonbanagar, Lava-Khadgaon Road, Wadi. Around 11 pm, Nikhil was attacked with a stone and killed near a water tank in Sainagar, Palandurkar Layout, Dabha in Gittikhadan jurisdiction.
Gittikhadan API K T Kamble, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Ashish Sudhakar Bhange (31), registered a case under Section 302 and launched a thorough investigation.
During the course of investigation, it came to the fore that the deceased Nikhil Bhange and the two accused Yogesh alias Babu Harihar Bisen (28), resident of Meghraj Nagar, Tekdiwadi and Pankaj Ramji Kuthe (28), resident of Smruti Nagar, Dattawadi, were friends and habiyual drunkards as well. Nikhil was jobless. A few days ago, he had stolen mobile phone of one of the accused and this had led to wordy duel between them.
The deceased Nikhil had hurled filthy abuses on the accused. This act of Nikhil had not gone down well with the two accused and they planned to settle score rather violently. On Tuesday night, the accused Yogesh Bisen Pankaj Kuthe called Nikhil and invited for enjoying liquor. After having a glass or two, the accused picked up quarrel with Nikhil over the old issue of stolen mobile and thrashed him severely. As Nikhil fell down, the accused hit him with a heavy stone on his head. The hit proved fatal and Nikhil died on the spot. Both the accused went absconding after murdering Nikhil.
However, the sleuths of Crime Branch Unit 2 scanned the record of mobile phones of the accused and detained them. After an intense interrogation, the two accused Yogesh alias Babu Harihar Bisen and Pankaj Ramji Kuthe reportedly confessed their role in killing Nikhil. Subsequently, they were placed under arrest.
The arrests were made by Senior Police Inspector R D Nikam, API Kamble, PSIs Nandkhaye, Mate, constables Yuvraj, Sanjay Tiwari, Suryakant under the guidance of senior police officials.
