Young man dies, relative injured in fatal road mishap in Hudkeshwar

Nagpur: A young man was killed and his relative sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were riding in was rammed by a rashly driven truck in Hudkeshwar. The driver of the killer truck fled the spot fearing backlash from angry passersby. The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday noon.

The victims Chandrakant Sheshrao Nagpure (36) and Sushil Ruprao Nagpure (28), both residents of Telhara village, Khapri Railway, Nagpur, were returning home on their Hero Passion motorcycle (MH-40/Q 6415) from Hudkeshwar. As the duo was nearing Hindusthan Dabha on Outer Ring Road, the recklessly driven truck (MH-40/6959) rammed the motorcycle with tremendous force. As a result, both Chandrakant and Sushil crashed on the road and sustained serious injuries. They were taken to GMCH but doctors there pronounced Sushil Nagpure brought dead.

Hudkeshwar PSI A D Munde has registered a case under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and searching for the driver of the killer truck.

Elderly man knocked dead:

In another fatal mishap, a 70-year old man died when cycle was hit by a speeding Honda Activa in front of Seva Maruti Showroom on Amravati Road on Tuesday night. The deceased Sahebrao Bajirao Futane, resident of Dhabha was returning home riding a cycle. When Sahebrao tried to cross road an unidentified Honda Activa (MH-31/EL 5586) rider crashed on his cycle.

Sahebrao received critical injuries and was rushed to CIIMS Hospital in Bajaj Nagar. However, Sahebrao succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Wadi PSI Bhaskar, based on a complaint, booked the unidentified Activa rider under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC and searching for him.
