Workers of liquor manufacturing companies to get revised minimum wages

In a significant move, the Additional Labour Commissioner has directed the liquor manufacturing companies to implement the revised minimum wages for their workers. A communication in this regard was on Tuesday sent to Kamptee Road-based Raman Distillers Pvt Ltd, Rainbow Distillers Pvt Ltd, Konkan Agro Marine Pvt Ltd, Nagpur Distillers Pvt Ltd, Vandana Distillers Pvt Ltd, Vidarbha Bottlers (Wardha Road) and Royal Distillers Pvt Ltd by the office of Additional Labour Commissioner.

Notably, the District Organizer of Bharatiya Kamgar Sena Bandu Talvekar had met the Additional Labour Commissioner Pendse on August 10 and submitted a memorandum of various demands. Subsequently, Pendse had immediately ordered Assistant Labour Commissioner V R Lokhande to send letters to the liquor manufacturing companies asking them to implement the revised minimum wages for their workers. With this directive, hundreds of workers in the liquor manufacturing companies will be paid the revised minimum wages with effect from May 18, 2016.
