Nagpur: Lakadganj police on Thursday arrested a middle aged woman on the charges of pushing a minor girl into prostitution in Ganja Jamuna (Red Light) area. The victim girl hailed from Madhya Pradesh.
The woman pimp, Ramdevi Kanhaiya Uchiya (50), originally hailing from Dabarpura, District Shipri (MP), lured the teenage girl and brought her to Ganga Jamuna, city’s infamous area. When the girl protested, the accused detained her and later pushed her into prostitution forcibly. The accused Ramdevi tortured the minor girl with sexual exploitation for her own financial gain. One other woman Tirathbai Uchiya abetted the heinous crime by making available a room in her own house for the flesh trade.
However, Lakadganj police received a tip off about the sexual exploitation of the minor girl at the hands of the two accused women and they raided the place around 3 pm on Thursday. Cops first rescued the victimized girl and detained the two accused women.
PSI Temgire has booked the accused under Sections 344, 366(A), 372, 373, 370(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and placed the key accused Ramdevi Kanhaiya Uchiya under arrest.
