Indian Academy Of Neurology in collaboration with Nagpur Neuro Society, Indian Psychiatry Society, Indian Medical Association, Academy of Medical Sciences, Nagpur Union of Working Journalist, Basoli Group celebrating World Brain Day on 22 July 2014 and Brain Awareness week.
The first activity of World Brain Week was A Walkathon – “Walk for your brain”. The Walkathon was held on 22 July which started at 8:00 am from Tilak Patrakar Bhavan to Variety Square and back. Commissioner of Police Nagpur City, Mr. K. K. Pathak flagged off the rally. It was a symbolic rally to increase awareness about Brain health and Brain diseases. Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram, National President, Indian Academy of Neurology thanked for participants for presence in large Numbers.
Over 300 doctors of various specialties, General Physicians, Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Dibetologists, Medical Representatives, Radiologists, students, teachers senior citizen, Journalists and general public defied the down pour and enthusiastically passed peacefully though the path which is a life line road of Nagpur and sought attention of passersby with slogans, play cards, announcements and Banners.
Tomarrow there will be lecture at 9 a.m. at Dayanand College, Jaripatka and at 11.00am at ESIS Hospital, Somwaripeth to spread the awareness as part of weeklong celebration.
