Inter-collegiate cricket tournament

The 19th edition of KRIKMANIA kicked off today, which is organized every year at Visveshvaraya National Institute of Technology. It is the most prestigious and awaited tournament in Nagpur region. Over the years it has attracted big guns in cricket in and around Nagpur region. It is an invitational, intercollegiate, one of its kind 50 over cricket tournament which was introduced in the year1995 with an aim towards exploring and promoting cricket talent in the region. Subsequent years have seen the emergence of good talent and the tournament has grown over the year.
The tournament is well organized by the students of VNIT, supported by the sports department and the finance is managed by the means of sponsorship and alumni fund.
The event was inaugurated at the hands of Dean Students Welfare, VNIT Dr. G P Singh. “Let us all enjoy spectacle and respect the spirit of game”, he said and wished all the participants good luck. The other dignitaries present were Dean Student Activities Dr. J.D. Ekhhe, Dr. Prashant Nagrale and Dr.Robin Simon, Sports Department.
Over the next 18 days, 12 teams will compete to become the ultimate winner. The opening match is played between VMV and Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management.
