Video: Nagpur Police assures of formulating a fully equipped “Bharosa Cell” to control crime against women

Nagpur: For the last few months, the crime graph, but Nagpur Police is soon coming up with a fully equipped crime control squad called as “Bharosa Cell” to curb crime against women. This building hosting the Bharosa Cell will be complete with a Lawyer, Doctor and Counsellor said Commissioner of Police K Venketesham.  Commissioner of Police Dr. K Venketesham (IPS) was addressing media personnel during Meet the Press at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan.

CP Dr. K Venketesham claimed that this squad will be one of its kind in the state. The CP added that there is a competition organized to draw or design the logo for the newly constituted squad. The selected logo will get suitably awarded too.

A building in Gopal Nagar has been short-listed to host the Bharosa Cell. The Bharosa Cell Building will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis on December 4, 2016.

Dr K Venketesham claimed that for the last few months, almost every-day, some or the other untoward incident seems to be occurring in various beer bars in the city. In order to initiate strict control over criminal activities and criminal and anti-social elements, the Nagpur city police will be assuming a very strict stand and has geared up to take strict action against the anti-social elements.

While speaking about the incident which occurred in Cloud-7, CP K Venketesham claimed that the cops were not pressurized in any way by anyone. He added that the police are doing his work seriously.

While speaking about the Morchas (Rallys) being taken out by various political parties, Social Organizations and NGOs etc, CP Dr K Venketesham said that it is very important for the rallyist and that the police department will provide security to them. CP K Venketesham claimed that in order to ensure that no untoward incident occurs during the Morchas, their intelligence cell or secret cell has been activated.

Free medical treatment for police personnel above 40 years of age
CP Dr. K Venketesham claimed that for the first time police personnel above the age of 40 years will get free treatment. This free medical service has been initiated after a tie-up of BPCL and Maharashtra Police. This is a first time in the entire country that cops are going to get free treatment. This project is said to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on December 4, 2016.

Modifications and prison reforms underway
While speaking about those prisoners who jump parole, CP Dr. K Venketesham said that certain modifications have been thought and work is on to incorporate them to prevent the parolees from jumping the parole. He claimed that ADG (Prisons) Bhushan K Upadyay and he have been speaking about the alarming number of prisoners who have jumped bail. He claimed that some mechanisms have been planned right from the Prison to ensure that this reduces and ends. He also claimed that the cops have been directed to apprehend all those parolees who have jumped bail.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ranjan Sharma, President of Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust Pradeep Moitra and Shirish Borkar were prominently present during the meeting.
