Nagpur: Vidarbha Arthroscopy Society & Vidarbha Orthopedic Society had jointly helding “First Nagpur Shoulder Course – Redefine Shoulder Surgical skills” on Sunday 18th Jan.2015 , at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur.
Prof. Dr. Jae Chul Yoo, (Chief Shoulder Surgeon), Samsung Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea, was The Chief Faculty. Dr. Prakash Kotwal, Head of Dept. Of Orthopaedics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi was National Faculty. Dr. Sanjay Marwah and Dr. R.M. Chandak were Patrons of the event.
The first ever course focused on “Shoulder Joint” covered all aspects of shoulder joint including Trauma and Fractures, Arthoscopy, Arthoplasty and Rehabilitation etc. Four live surgeries were demonstrated from 2 Operation Theatres of a hospital in Dhantoli to the venue by two way audio communication along with lectures and workshops.
Topics covered included Live surgery “Proximal Humerus fractures, Osteosynthesis/ Hemiarthoplassty, lateral clavicle frature Osteosynthesis”, & Arthoscopic cuff Repair OR orthoscopic Bankar’S repair.Total Shoulder Replacement OR Reverse Shoulder Replacement.
Shoulder Radiology for Orthoapedicians, Examination of Shoulder, lateral end clavicle Fracture fixation, ACI Dislocation.
Mid shaft fracture clavicle (Collar Bone) when and how to do, Recurrent shoulder dislocation How to do, and Open surgery; Hemiarthopalsty, shoulkder rehab
An Organising team of Dr. Ashutosh Apte, Dr. Jitendra Taori, Dr. Prasad Aparajit, Dr. Kuldeep Deshpande. Dr. Prashant Parate, Dr. Sumedh CHaudhary, Dr. Shiraj Khan, Dr. amol Kadu & Dr. Alankar Ramteke toiled hard to make smooth conduction of the course.
Dr. Vikram Sapre and Dr. Sastish Sonar looked after Operation Theatre Coordination. Dr. Naved Ahmed and Dr. Samir Dwidmuthe were the master of ceremony.
Dr. Satyajeet Jagtap, Organising Chairman, made opening welcome speech and emphasised the need to adopt latest techniques for betterment of the results of shoulder injuries. Dr. Avinash Patil, President VOS, Dr. Manoj Pahukar, Secretary VOS, & Dr. Amit Hadole Convener were also present on the occasion and expressed their views. and Dr. Mukesh Laddha Organising secretary thanked participants Post Graduate students and Orthopedic Surgeons of the region who availed this opportunity and updated their skills by registering in large numbers and making the event a grand success
The course may be held every year looking at the response informed Dr. Mukesh Laddha in the concluding programme and valedictory function.
