Nagpur: The much awaited “UDYOJIKA – An All Eves Expo” organized by the Lady Entrepreneurs Wing will be held from 1st October to 4th October 2017. This will be 23rd year of UDYOJIKA, an event which was initiated by VIA LEW in association with Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede Trust in memory of Late Smt. Kusumtai Wankhede Trust.
The small initiative of LEW to provide a platform to Lady Entrepreneurs to exhibit their hidden talents and to display their products in UDYOJIKA has now become a talk of the town. UDYOJIKA has become a regular event in Nagpur and is eagerly awaited by people not only in Nagpur but from near by districts also.
The VIA Lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing aims an earnest attempt at bringing forth the ladies of the region to utilize their talents and entrepreneurship for not only their own benefit but also help fellow women by providing employment opportunities. The response to the Wing has been overwhelming. However, it was realized that the women entrepreneurs find it difficult to market their products with their limited resources. The VIA Lady Entrepreneurs Wing thus, thought of providing a platform to Ladies to exhibit and market their products. This gave birth to UDYOJIKA. Making an impact in its very first edition the Udyojika – An All Eves Exhibition has grown stronger and today this has become an annual event of the Orange City.
This 4-day spectacular event hopes to take the Nagpurians by storm. The expo, this year, hopes to attract more than One Lakh people during the four days. With the on set of the festival season, the exhibition is all set for a boom in business.
This year’s Udyojika will showcase – Block Printing Kurtis, Sarees, Imitation Jewellery, Paintings, Purses, Kurti (Hand Paint), Fancy Candles, Kurties, Fancy Items, Murals, Pots, Stationery,Home Décor, Fancy Gift Items, Envelops, Hand Embroidery Dress Materials, Hand Jewelleries, Bed Sheets, Batik Shadow Works, Diwan Set Covers, Purses Handicrafts and Cosmetics, Garments, One gram Gold Jewellery Items, Ayurvedic Products, Suit, Marriage Packing Items, Wedding Articles, Gift Articles, Aloevera Products, Designer Diyas etc. Apart from these the visitors can have a taste of delicious cuisine.
There is special attraction on 2nd Oct in the form of ‘Bachpan se Pachpan Khadi Products’-a fashion show to showcase khadi products to mark Gandhi Jayanti. There are 3 categories, viz, 0-20 years, 21-40years and 40 years onwards. The participants can display 2 Khadi products and have to bring their own model to showcase their products. On 3rd Oct, there is cookery contest wherein the contestants are supposed to prepare one snack and one sweet which should not be fried.i.e.healthy and low calorie cooking. The contestants are required to prepare it from their home and bring it for display and judgment at Kusumtai Wankhede Hall. The Cookery contest winners shall win prizes sponsored by Samsung.
