Valedictory function at IML, Kamptee

The Valedictory Function of MLSC-44 was held on 22 Aug at Institute of Military Law, Kamptee.  The said course is designed to impart knowledge on mil & allied laws to the officers of different arms & services of Indian Army. The course was inaugurated by Dr. Siddartha Kane, the Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tokdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur on 27 July 2015. Course of 04 weeks duration was attended by senior officers in the rank of Col, Lt Col & Major and one officer of the rank of Lt Col from Tanzanian Army. It is a unique course wherein officers are trained in practical application of law to ground situations. Officers attending the course were trained in various aspects of mil & allied laws which encompassed the conduct of Court of Inquiry, Framing of Charges, Hearing of Charge, Conduct of Summary Trials, Summary Courts Martial, AFT & International Humanitarian Law. The training imparted by IML included lectures conducted by distinguished personalities, P K Malhotra, Secretary, Ministry of Law & Justice and Team from International Committee of Red Cross.

During the course the student officers were give training on military and allied Laws. Course officer were taken to Forensic Science Laboratory at Nagpur for interaction with the concerned authorities and to know about its functioning. At the conclusion of the course, Col R K Singh stood First in the order of overall merit and was awarded “The Dte Gen of Mil Int (DGMI) Running Trophy”, Lt Col Vikram Chawla stood Second in the order of overall merit and was awarded “The Commandant’s Running Trophy” and Lt Col Vijay Singh Yadav was awarded “Inspirational Prize”. Commandant Col Sandeep Kumar appreciated the effort & hard work put in by the Tanzanian Officer in understanding Indian Laws and presented him with Memento of Remembrance.
