Truck labourer killed in freak mishap in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur: A truck labourer was killed in a freak mishap in Yashodhara Nagar area on Sunday morning. The deceased was sandwiched between the truck and compound wall of scrap material godown during work. The truck driver has been booked.

The deceased named Habib was working as labourer on the truck (MH-12/HD 4578) driven by Shahjad Shah Shahid, resident of Dobi Nagar, near narrow gauge railway line. On Sunday, around 11.45 am, Shahjad took his scrap-laden truck to a scrap godown near Tipu Sultan Square in Yashodhara Nagar area for unloading the material. Habib disembarked from the truck and directed it towards compound wall of the scrap material godown. As the driver Shahjad was reversing his truck negligently, the vehicle trapped Habib between the rear side of the truck and the compound wall. Habib was sandwiched between the truck and wall and crushed with force. The seriously injured Habib was taken to Mayo Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 12.15 pm the same day.

Yashodhara Nagar ASI Tripathi has registered a case against the accused truck driver Shahjad Shah Shahid under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act. Further probe is on.
