Teenager killed, 2 friends injured as bike crashes on road divider in Sadar

: The “Speed kills” saying has again been proved right as three young friends, riding a motorcycle recklessly, were injured grievously when the bike crashed on a road divider near Tirpude College in Sadar area on Tuesday. One of the friends died on the spot and the other two are battling for life in a hospital.

The youngsters named as Sumit Suresh Kukde (18), Bhushan Baburao Parate (20) and Abhishek Joshi, all residents of Vathoda Layout, were going towards Futala Lake on a motorcycle (MH-31/DN 8083) triple seat around 2.15 pm on Tuesday (August 15). Sumit was riding the bike in great speed. As the trio reached near Tirpude College in Sadar, Sumit lost control and crashed his bike onto a road divider. As a result, the three friends suffered serious injuries. Unfortunately, Sumit died on the spot before medical help could be rendered to him. Bhushan and Abhishek were taken to a hospital.

Sadar police constable Santosh Tiwari, based on a statement of Bhushan Parate, has booked the deceased Sumit Kukde under Sections 304(A), 279, 337, 338 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
