Team of cops manhandled by 4 goons in Kamptee

Nagpur: A team of cops from New Kamptee Police Station was heckled and manhandled by a group of four goons when the policemen asked them to switch off loudspeakers blaring at a Qawwali programme on Monday night. The accused even tried to snatch mobile phones of the policemen.

According to information, A Qawwali programme was being organized at a religious place near Kamptee Railway Station on Monday night. The loudspeakers at the programme were blaring even after the stipulated time limit in the night hours. Upon receiving information about the violation, a team of cops from New Kamptee Police Station rushed to the spot and asked the organizers to switch off the blaring loudspeakers. Enraged by the police order, the four accused namely Mohammed Ramzan alias Babu Bhati, Bablu Aziz, Abdul Taj and Mehboob Ali Baba started heckling and manhandling the cops. The accused even tried to snatch mobile phones of the policemen but could not succeed.

Based on a complaint, police have booked the four accused under Sections 353, 386, 323, 34 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 135, 110, 112, 117 of Mumbai Police Act.
