TBZ Jewellers, Poonam Chamber, booked for betrayal, cheating

Nagpur: The Sadar police have booked Hemant Brijlal Zaveri, resident of Mumbai, and who owns Poonam Chamber-based a jewellery showroom, Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri and Sons, has been booked by Sadar police on the charges of breach of trust and cheating a customer.

According to police sources, the jewellery showroom runs a monthly interest scheme on gold deposits. It gives 1.5 percent interest on such deposits. The accused Hemant Zaveri claimed his jewellery showroom has licence for such scheme. However, when the complainant, Abul Kalam Azad Abdul Masjid (60), resident of Flat No. 101, Raghav Apartment, Nelson Square, Nagpur, deposited his gold in the so-called scheme and demanded the interest amount, the accused Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri and Sons refused to part with the money and thus betrayed him. The refusal amounted to cheating on the part of accused Hemant Zaveri.

Sadar PSI M B Chaurasia, acting on the complaint of Abdul Masjid, has booked the accused under Sections 406, 420 of the IPC and started further investigation.
