SRPF Jawan attacks colleague with knife in an attempt to kill him

Nagpur.

A Jawan of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) on Monday night murderously attacked his colleague with knife in an attempt kill him. The reason for the attack has been attributed to suspicion. The critically injured SRPF man has been admitted in a private hospital and the attacker has been booked.

The accused Surajsingh Bais, resident of SRPF Camp, New Quarters, Hingna Road, Nagpur, was reportedly raging with suspicion. The suspicion took worse turn when the accused Surajsingh assaulted his colleague Dilip Bhivaji Darpude (38), resident of New Quarter No. 103/2 while he was going to duty. The accused Surajsingh attacked Dilip near Quarter No. 111/1 in SRPF Camp itself with a sharp-edged knife and caused a deep wound on Dilip’s neck with an intention to kill him. The profusely bleeding Dilip was rushed to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital in serious condition.

MIDC PSI Bhagat, based on a complaint, booked the accused SRPF Jawan Surajsingh Bais under Section 307 of IPC read with Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and investigating the matter further.
