The youth of the country needs to be transformed in unique persons who will serve the society, country and humanity, says former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

“India is suffering from the fifth nation syndrome and there is a need to build culture of excellence,” said former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam further said that the young generation of India needs to inspire to become unique. Dr. Kalam was speaking at a programme organized by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Maharshi Vyas Sabhagruh, Smruti Bhavan, Reshimbag, Nagpur. An inspirational talk session was organized on the topic “ Transforming India through Science and Technology”. Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani was the special guest on the occasion.
Addressing the students during his speech, Dr. Abdul Kalam emphasized on becoming unique in such a way that one can serve the humanity. “One should always dream big because small dream is a crime. When you do big things in life, the problem also comes in a bigger way. One should not let the problem to be the captain instead become caption of the problem,” asserted the former President and added, “When problems come across one should become captain of the problem, defeat the problem and succeed.”
Sharing his experiences, Dr. Kalam said that it’s not important that one should succeed every time but the most crucial thing is to be able to handle the failure. One should have the ability to absorb the defeat too.
Dr. Kalam also held a question answer session with the students and gave answers to the questions asked by the students in his own gracious style. Kalam’s speech definitely motivated the young blood present in the programme who will for sure do something for the nation and the humanity, said the organiser.
We are seeking advice from common public specially students to improve educational policy, says Irani
HRD Minister Smriti Irani, who was the special guest for the programme, in her speech talked about the importance of the education and said that the present government is focused on giving education to each and every child. Smriti Irani said that there is a need to attach more importance to the research projects in order to transform innovative ideas in reality and our government is focusing on research and experiments for new inventions. Irani also said that the Government is seeking the advice from common people specially students to make and improve educational policy. “The HRD Ministry will be organizing a National Education Policy meet to get the ideas from the people,” informed Irani. Irani said that the HRD Ministry has planned to spend 12.3 % of nation’s GDP on education. She proudly mentioned that the literacy rate in India has increased incredibly and 70% of country’s population is educated now.
