Siya Deodhar from Nagpur in Under-12 Indian Basketball team

A city girl from Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana, Siya Shreesh Deodhar student of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Civil Lines Nagpur got selected to represent the Indian Basketball team in under 12 category at Pacific International School Games to be held at Melbourne, Australia from 21st to 29th Nov 2015.

After Mugdha Amraotkar from Nagpur representing India couple of years back in Under 16 category, its another proud moment for the Nagpur Basketball to have one more player participating in the International event. Siya Deodhar, a regular player of Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana is trained under able guidance of Shiv Chhatrapati awardee Shatrughna Gokhale and Vinay Chikate assisted her in coaching. Daughter of local businessman Shreesh Deodhar and Swati Deodhar, Siya participated in the Under 14 school Nationals at Rajasthan last year and secured Gold medal. At the age of 11 she got the best player award in Maharashtra state Basketball championship in under 16 category held at Nasik last year. This year also Siya got selected for the Under 14 Maharashtra team for School Nationals to be held at Gwalior, M.P.

Siya is the only girl from Maharashtra to be participating in this International event. Indian team departed today morning by Delhi-Singapore-Adelaide-Melbourne flight from New Delhi airport. The them will participate in the Pacific International school games and will be back on 30th by Melbourne-Singapore-Delhi flight.
