Six accused nabbed within 24 hours of their committing a crime

Nagpur: Six youth had looted a truck driver and fled with the money on his possession. The news of the six youth was flashed to all the police stations.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-1) Deepali Masirkar, on October 26, 2016, based on the complaint lodged by the driver of a truck cops of Hingna Police Station swung into action and managed to apprehend all the six accused involved in the heinous act.

The accused youth identified as 1) Nilesh alias Golu Yashwant Rode aged 26 years and a resident of Hanuman Nagar, Hingna, 2) Pankaj alias Sonu Sunil Ganchakar aged 23 years, 3) Shubham Anil Tete aged 23 years (owner of Indica Car-MH-31/CM-1350), 4) Atish Wasudev Sontakke aged 22 years all residents of Hingna, 5) Rishikesh Iswar Korde aged 20 years and a resident of Mahajan Wadi and 6) Vicky Fulzele aged 20 years.

On October 25, 2016, the victim truck driver identified as Ramesh Piramal Patel aged 41 years and a resident of Jingi District Villupuram (Tamil Nadu) had loaded his truck bearing RTO Registration No TN-16 B/ 9874 from Wardhamna area in Nagpur. He was going to Pondichery through Amravati route from outer ring road.

While he was crossing Mauza Sangam Shivar area on Highway road, the driver of an Indica Car had tried to stop the truck by over-taking the truck and coming in front. However, the victim truck driver did not stop the truck. The driver of the Indica again overtook the truck and blocked the way by stopping the car on the road causing the victim truck driver to stop the truck.
The accused then pulled the driver of the truck and after physically assaulting the driver, one of the accused had whisked a knife and on knife point had snatched Rs 5000/- from the victim’s possession.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the truck driver at Hingna Police Station, the cops had registered a case of looting under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and had started the investigations.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-1) Deepali Masirkar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajratan Bansod, In-Charge of Hingna Police Station Senior Inspector Hemant Kharabe, four different squads were constituted.
The cops of Hingna Police DB Squad NPC Mangesh Gawai received a secret tip off through his informers. The informer had conveyed that on October 24, 2016 at around 9:30 pm some youth had come Jes Mes Dhaba in a Red coloured Indica car bearing RTO registration No MH-31/ CN-1350 and had consumed liquor at the Dhaba (road side eatery).

The cops then picked up Vicky Fulzele from a Dhaba situated in Gaganpura Bypass road. When the cops subjected him to intense questioning, the accused spilled the beans and accepted that the truck driver was indeed looted by him and his friends. He revealed the names of all the other accused and the DB squad wasted no time and picked up all the accused. All the six accused confessed to the crime.
