Nagpur:
It is presumed that Sharad Pawar who was on a tour of Vidarbha must have had a long discussion on the post of BCCI President with former BCCI Chief N Shrinivasan who was also in Nagpur on Thursday the September 24, 2015.

While commenting on this issue NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that he and Shrinivasan had attended the funeral of the present BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya. However, both could not meet. Thereafter Pawar had contacted N Shrinivasan. N Shrinivasan was scheduled to go to Hyderabad via Nagpur, hence both met in the city.

Pawar further said that after the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya, the post of BCCI President was lying vacant. He claimed that he discussed with N Shrinivasan the issue of election of the next President of BCCI and stressed that the election should be unanimous. On earlier occasions too, the election of BCCI President used to be unanimous and it helped in running the affairs smoothly. Therefore, the next President should also be unanimously elected.

According to Pawar, N Shrinivasan has clarified that he is not in the race for the coveted post. Commenting on his candidature, Pawar said that all the members of BCCI would decide over the candidature. However, his comments clearly pointed to the fact that he is interested in becoming the next President of BCCI.
