Nagpur: “Women are known for multi-tasking where they fulfil their responsibilities at home and also do justice with their job. It’s heartening to see so many Chartered Accountants ladies who are contributing in various manners in development of nation. There was a time when people use to feel that few jobs cannot be done by females. With time women have proved their capabilities in multiple fields and are doing exceptionally well in their fields. Gender bias is something which is only in the minds of people and it’s important that we should remove it from our mind and be confident about doing things,” said Mayor Nanda Jichkar.

Jichkar was talking as chief guest at the Seminar on Women Enrichment organized by Nagpur Branch of ICAI for women Chartered Accountants. She added that women should work freely with open mind and should compete with the fast moving world. In almost every sector women’s are working shoulder to shoulder and are in no way behind in any manner. Women empowerment is very important for the development of nation and it progress. She mentioned that post implementation of GST, various practical difficulties were being faced at the ground level. Chartered Accountants have played an exceptional role in creating necessary awareness and to help the trade community to resolve the issues. By contributing various suggestions to the GST council, again CA’s have worked with the government in implementing the law in the country.

The problems being faced are temporary issues and with time to come all such issues will be resolved. Chartered Accountants are respected in the society because they are providing all possible help in revenue generation and ultimately in the Nation Development. She expressed her happiness on organizing an exclusive program for the ladies wherein all speakers and delegates will be women.

CA. Bhawna Doshi, Past Central Council Member in her key note address mentioned that the number of lady Chartered Accountants and their contribution in society and in profession is increasing day by day. She added that more and more lady CA’s should come forward and be a part of the seminars as a speaker which will be helpful to them to groom their personality. It’s time that we should focus on knowledge enrichment as well. She requested the mayor to look into formation of a technical committee of Lady CA”s who can work with the corporation in their various tax collections initiatives, planning and their record keeping.

CA. Julfesh M. Shah, Member of PR & CSR Committee of ICAI, New Delhi in his address mentioned that All Women Conference is a regular feature at Nagpur Branch which was started to motivate lady CA’s. This is a platform for Lady CA’s to update their knowledge and also to showcase their talent which will ultimately help in updating of their knowledge and skills.

CA. Sandeep W. Jotwani, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of ICAI in his welcome address mentioned that the real women empowerment will be when there will more and more Lady CA’s as speakers and more and more listeners. Nagpur Branch is taking all the efforts in not only organizing multiple programs for members and students but also in developing and motivating new faculties who can contribute to the profession by sharing their skills. HE assured the mayor to provide all technical support if they wish to organize any training programs for their staff members.

CA. Kaanchan Ambaskar, CA. Parinita Adukia, CA. Vinita Bahri, CA. Prutha Shah, CA. Irawati Dani and CA. Swaroopa Wazalwar deliberated on various topics of professional interest.

CA. Kirit Kalyani co-ordinated the program along with CA. Gauri Deshpande and CA. Shardha Suresh. CA. Suren Duragkar, Secretary of Nagpur Branch proposed formal vote of thanks. Prominently present on the occasion were CA. Umang Agrawal, CA. Saket Bagdia, CA. Sanjay M. Agrawal and other lady members in large numbers.
