Nagpur: A Secretary of a society has been booked on charges of forgery and cheating the office of Ashi Nagar Zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The accused Secretary put his signatures on the proposals of beneficiaries of a housing complex in the name of officials and also attached bogus BPL certificates in order to grab benefits.
The accused has been identified as Devendra Vasantrao Gade, Secretary of Sahara Bahuudyeshiya Society. The Secretary, with ulterior motives in his mind, put his signatures on the proposals of beneficiaries of Ramai Housing Complex Scheme being undertaken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation for poor people. The accused signed the proposals in the name of officials of Ashi Nagar Zone of NMC. Similarly, the Secretary attached bogus BPL certificates to eight proposals with clear intention to mislead and cheat the office and also usurp the benefits of housing scheme. The accused Devendra Gade indulged in forgery and cheating over a period from April, 2013 to April, 2015. However, the dubious design of the accused Secretary got exposed after close scrutiny and subsequently, a case was registered against him at Panchpaoli Police Station by Ajay Maroti Pazare, an employee of NMC’s Ashi Nagar Zone.
PSI Tayde has registered an offence against the Secretary under Sections 409, 420, 465, 468, 471 of IPC and investigating the matter further.
