Second Orange City International Film Festival in city from Feb 1 to 4

Nagpur: The Second Orange City International Film Festival, organised jointly by Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Orange City Cultural Foundation, and Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, will be held from February 1 to 4 at at Kavikulguru Kalidas Auditorium of Persistent System, IT Park, Gayatri Nagar, and PVR, near Gandhisagar Lake.

The inaugural function of the film festival will be held at the auditorium of Persistent System at 5 pm on February 1. Internationally famous Film Director and one of the leading lights of the new Indian cinema, Adoor Gopalakrishnan will be conferred OCIFF award on the occasion. Similarly, renowned music director of Bollywood, Ramlaxman (Ham Apke Hain Kaun and Ham Saath Saath Hain fame) will also be felicitated.

The national and international level films would be screened for members at Kavikulguru Kalidas Auditorium of Persistent System, IT Park, Gayatri Nagar, and PVR, near Gandhisagar Lake on February 2, 3, and 4. After every film, noted Director Dr Jabbar Patel, Film Guru Samar Nakhate and film critique Abhijit Randive would be interacting with the audience. An interview of Adoor Gopalakrishnan by Dr Jabbar Patel will be the star attraction of the Film Festival. Other events such as discussions on various aspects of film making, movies of Nagpur and Vidarbha, short films, workshop for budding documentary producers and directors etc will also be organised during the Second Orange City International Film Festival. A galaxy of film personalities would be attending the event during the event.

The Second Orange City International Film Festival will see 31 award winning unreleased films and 29 short films being screened. Entry will be free for members. For membership, online arrangement has been made for those interested.
