Nagpur: Almost in political exile for the last 3-4 years, BJP leader Sanjay Joshi still remains a force to reckon with in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Being deeply rooted in RSS ideology, Joshi is still loved by all and sundry at the RSS. This was very much evident during the month long third year officers” training camp (OTC) at Reshimbag ground on Thursday. After meeting the RSS chief last week, Joshi made his presence felt at the camp.

Joshi is a known opponent of prime minister Narendra Modi. Having worked together in Gujarat unit of BJP for many years, Joshi and Modi developed rift following which Joshi was thrown in to oblivion by Modi. However, of late, posters of Joshi were seen donning the streets of Delhi and Nagpur with a poser to the effect that when will the Joshi’s home-coming happen. This had given rise to speculations in the political circles about Joshi’s comeback.

Meanwhile, Joshi met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat last week. The meeting was a secret one. It may be noted here that Sanjay Joshi has been instrumental in raising the organisation to a much higher level. He has a wide support in the organisation right from Nagpur to Delhi. His supporters have, of late, started a drive to bring Joshi back in to respectable position of authority in RSS.

The ‘secret’ meeting with the RSS chief and then his presence at the OTC camp has triggered speculations about his respectable rehabilitation in RSS.

Swayamsevaks surround Joshi

No sooner did Joshi arrived at the camp in Reshimbag than the RSS volunteers started surrounding him. He arrived almost 15 minutes before the start of the function. Joshi was respectfully welcomed by the RSS cadres and was made to sit on the first row. Later, while talking to local newspaper, Joshi quipped that he was a swayamsevak of the Sangh and hence he remained present at the camp. “There is nothing new in it,” he said
