Salesman defrauds jewellery showroom, flees with gold booty worth Rs 6.22 lakh

A 32-year old man from Rajasthan, working as a salesman at a jewellery showroom, breached the trust of owner and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 6,22,000. Cops have now launched a search to nab the accused.

The accused Mukeshkumar Chirinjilal Agrawal (32), native of Khirsala, District Jhunjhun, Rajasthan, was working as salesman at Karan Kothari Jewellers, Sarafa Bazaar, Itwari, since the past six years. The accused Mukeshkumar also used to work as deliveryman and used to deliver customers’ ornaments to their homes. Meanwhile, between 6.8.2014 and 21.8.14, the accused was given gold ornaments worth Rs 6,22,000 for delivery at customers’ homes. However, the accused, instead of delivering the gold booty to the customers kept the valuables with him only and later fled the city. Shocked by the breach of trust, the jewellery showroom lodged a complaint with Tehsil Police Station in this connection.

Tehsil PSI Kadlag, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Mukeshkumar Chirinjilal Agrawal under Section 408 of the IPC and launched a search to nab him.
