The accused had promised the senior citizen to set up a pharmaceutical company

In what could be termed as taking advantage of senior citizens for ulterior motives, a senior citizen aged 65 years was fleeced of Rs 10,00,000/- (Rs ten lakhs) on the promise of setting-up a Pharmaceutical Company.

The complainant identified as Kishore Waman Date aged 65 years and a resident of Plot No 236, Prabhu Krupa, Ram Nagar falling under the jurisdiction of Ambazhari Police Station in his complaint reported that the accused pair Arvind Ramkrishna Nene and Gayathri Nene residents of AF-3, Plot No 72,73 & 74, Saraswati Apartments, Shilpa Housing Society, Manish Nagar Nagpur had between 21/08/2012 to 17/10/12, had taken Rs 10,00,000/- (Rs ten lakhs) from the complainant for setting-up a Pharmaceutical Company (a medicine manufacturing unit) and the land for setting up the unit. However, the complainant found that the accused duo had not made any purchases, instead had utilized the money fleeced from the senior citizen for personal needs. This way the accused duo had committed a breach of trust and a fraud on the senior citizen.

On the basis of the complaint given by the complainant Kishore Waman Date, Police Sub-Inspector Tripathi of the Ambazhari Police has registered a case under sections 406 and 34 of Indian Penal Code against the accused duo. Further investigations are on in the case.
