Rupees ten crores allocated for erection and development of city bus stands

Nagpur: Rupees ten crores have been allocated for erection and development of city bus stands in Mauda, Kamptee and Mahadula areas in Nagpur district said Minister for New and Renewable Energy Maharashtra and Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

On Friday, October 21, 2016, a meeting of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) was held to discuss Transport system under the Chairmanship of Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The Divisional Manager of MSRTC K R Mundle, Regional Manager of MSRTC S V Panchabhai, MLA Sameer Meghe and Mayor Praveen Datke were also prominently present on the occasion.

Guardian Minister Bawankule claimed that Morbhavan Bus Stand is going to be developed in the lines of a Bus Port. Bawankule has directed some agencies to study and submit a report about the feasibility of completing this project in a Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.

Apart from this Bawankule has also directed MSRTC to submit a proposal for building modern Bus stands in Narkhed, Hingna, Parshivni, Mauda within a week. According to Guardian Minister in all Rs 10 crores have been allocated for construction and development of bus stands. While Mauda and Mahadula have been allocated Rs 1.5 crores, bus stands in other places have been allocated Rs one crore each.

Guardian Minister Bawankule said that soon a meeting will be held with the Transport Minister and a proposal to sanction funds for construction or erection of sheds for Bus-stands at 144 places will be made. Guardian Minister also claimed that the entire premises of 23 bus-stands in the district will be modernized and commercial complexes will also be developed in them.
Mayor of Nagpur Praveen Datke had also appealed to Guardian Minister to make arrangements for Bus stops and City Bus parking areas.
