Nagpur News : The issue of TTL vehicles has once again brought the ruling party and administration at loggerheads. As the tender is not issued even after the giving instructions the ruling party is putting pressure on the commissioner.

A meeting was convened for 42 meter high TTL at NMC on Thursday. Both administration and the ruling party are trying to avoid saying anything about the issue discussed at the meeting. But one thing is clear that the ruling party expressed strong displeasure about the delay being caused in the purchase of TTL machine.

It was in the year 2010 that the standing committee had given sanction for the purchase of TTL machine. Again in 2011 the standing committee gave sanction to the proposal and made a provision of Rs 5 crore for it. Two years prior to that the fire brigade department had sent the proposal of purchase of machine to the state government but the govt had not paid any heed to the proposal at that time. The govt had put a condition of purchasing the machine from a single company. But now that condition has also been relaxed, the sources said. In the recent meeting on the issue it was decided that the mayor should take initiative in this regard.

Now the high rise building constructions are gaining momentum. But as there is no high machine available with the department, in case of fire both fire brigade as well as the ruling party will have to face the music for being inefficient. So the ruling party has made a demand for immediate issue of tender for the purchase of the machine. Some time back there were rules framed by state government in this regard but that hindrance is also not there now.

Head of fire brigade committee expressed surprise over the state govt objections as no money is taken from state and it is only NMC which has to contribute for the purchase of this machinery.
