RTMNU to introduce ‘Bachelor in Vocational Education’ course

The Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is starting a new course ‘Bachelor in Vocational Education’ B.Voch from the next Academic Session 2014-15. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had introduced B.Voch course for all the universities. RTMNU has begun to draft the syllabus for the course.

Initially, on a pilot project basis, six RTMNU Affiliated Colleges have introduced this course from this year. These colleges include Kamla Nehru College, VMV College, R.G Bhoyar College, J.M. Patel College (Wardha) and Sharad Chandra Pawar College, Butibori.

The students who have passed HSSC from any stream will be eligible for B.Voch course. It is understood that UGC is thinking of scraping the traditional courses and introduce vocational based courses. Now it will be interesting to see, how job feasible these vocational courses turn out to be as compared to the traditional courses.
