As the two NCP leaders turned head on in a legal fight in one of the most expensive claim, both the NCP corporator Vedprakash Arya and NCP city president Ajay Patil appeared to be in no mood to budge.
Arya had slapped Patil with a legal notice through Adv Rajeshree Dewani demanding written apology from Patil along with Rs 2 crore against damages caused to his image, within seven days of receiving notice, failing which a legal action will be initiated against Patil.
When Nagpur Today contacted Vedprakash Arya, he declined to comment anything. “The matter is under legal consideration and it would not be appropriate to comment anything at this point since everything is being proceeded legally. I will speak out at the right time, as and when required,” Arya told Nagpur Today.
Despite repeated attempt Patil could not be reached for his comment.
Meanwhile, Patil had alleged Arya and Shailendra Tiwari of beating his son Shubhankar Arya. Patil also informed the media of lodging a complaint against Arya at police station after which the news flashed across all media. The notice alleges Patil to have done this with an intention to malign Arya’s image and reputation in the city.
The notice clearly states absence of any FIR against Arya in any police station. It alleges Patil of resorting to such lowly acts out of jealousy of Arya’s increasing popularity in the Nationalist Congress Party and his increasing stature.
The notice alleges Patil of defamation and sought a written apology and compensation of Rs 2 crore and additional Rs 10,000 within seven days failing which a case will be filed against Patil under section 500 of the Indian Penal Code.
Responding to questions, Ajay Patil denied receiving any such notice from Arya and assured of giving a befitting legal reply to the notice.
He further added that the allegations made by him on Arya are completely true and that the matter will now be solved by NCP state president.
