Rs 12.53 lakhs worth of goods stolen from bakery in Empress City Mall

Nagpur: In a daring act, some burglars broke into the bakery situated in the third floor of Empress City Mall and stole goods worth Rs 12.53 lakhs on November 29, 2016.

According to police sources, Tobando Naushad Bhagwagar aged 51 years and a resident of Ganeshpeth area lodged a complaint on November 29, 2016 that some burglars broke into the bakery Shop No 340-B, named Taubeys situated in the third floor of Empress City Mall and stole goods worth Rs 12.53 lakhs.

Tobando Bhagwagar had taken this shop on rent. The bakery was not doing so well so he had given a letter to Ketan Construction Limited (KCL) Company and had kept the shop closed. The bakery was said to be closed from April 16, 2016 to October 12, 2016.

During this period of closure, some unidentified burglars had broken the lock on the shutter and the burglars had stolen the refrigerator, pizza oven, sandwich griller, pizza counter- refrigerator, tables, chairs, LED sign-board, music system and other goods. The burglars had allegedly broken some of the goods kept in the closed shop.

Tobando had given a written complaint to Ganeshpeth Police Station. During investigations it came to fore that goods worth Rs 12.53 lakhs has been stolen from the closed shop.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Tobando, Assistant Police Inspector Atram of Ganeshpeth Police Station registered a case of burglary and has initiated an investigation into the matter.
