Nagpur: Nagpur’s oldest & biggest walk & foot race is back with a new mission and enthusiasm to inspire the paramount importance of health in the minds of the young & the elderly. Jointly presented by Rotary Club of Nagpur and Arneja Heart & Multispecialty Hospital along with Dinshaw’s, Calderys and Gorewada International Zoo as associate sponsors, Walkathon & Dream Run 2018 is a Walk & Run for Life to be held on Sunday, 4th February 2018 at Ramgiri, Civil Lines, Nagpur.
The event will be marked by exciting prizes worth Rs. 4, 00,000/- to be won on 3, 5 & 10 KM walk race and 5 & 10 KM run race. Interested candidates can register online at www.rcnarnejawalkathon.com or fill forms available at Dinshaw’s outlets close to Residency Road, Gittikhadan, Gandhi Sagar Lake, and Nirmal Nagari-Taj Baug. Besides, the forms are also available at Dinshaw’s Cream Studio, Dinshaw’s Factory, and Ajit, Sadar. The registration charges (including all taxes) are Rs. 200/- for Walkathon and Rs. 500/- & Rs. 750/- for 5 KM & 10 KM Dream Run respectively.
Dinshaw’s Carnival of Food & Fun, from 3rd to 4th February, will be another highlight of the event, where Dinshaw’s Food Court will serve lip-smacking dishes at 20% discount to the participants and public both. All participants must also collect their free caps, t-shirts, bibs (for runners only), and gifts on 3rd February between 9 am to 7 pm.
Walkathon is one of the celebrated projects of Rotary Club of Nagpur started in 2005. Where the participation was 500-1000 persons in the initial years, it has significantly grown now to 5000-10000 persons hailing from the various regions of Vidarbha. Arnjea Heart & Multispecialty Hospital, Central India’s most advanced cardiac care facility in Nagpur, has also been the strongest proponent and partner of the event for years. For the first time now, the event is also promoted alongside its own mascot – an animated tiger wearing a Rotary cap and a Heart-badged t-shirt.
The proceeds of Walkathon & Dream Run 2018 will be utilized to shape other social causes of Rotary Club of Nagpur, like Udaan, a fun-filled sports day for Differently Abled children, and Hemalkasa Surgical Camp to provide medical aid to the tribal and underprivileged population.
