Road mishap triggers mob fury, cops heckled, body taken away without post-mortem

Nagpur: A road accident in which a 32-year old man was killed triggered mob fury and manhandling of two policemen. The mob also created a ruckus in a private hospital and vociferously objected to post-mortem of the accident victim. The angry people took away with them the body without post-mortem. Seven persons have been booked in this connection.

According to information, the 32-year old man Sagar Krushnarao Arekar, resident of Adarsh Nagar in Sakkardara area, had met with a road accident on 24.2.15. He was taken to Cure It Hospital located at Dighori Flyover Square, Nagpur. However, Sagar succumbed to fatal injuries while undergoing treatment. Sagar’s death triggered an outrage among his relatives and other 40-50 people. The seven accused Krushnarao Arekar (60), Shrikant Bhaurao Mojhe (35), Sumit Devrao Mojhe (25), Prakash Janbaji Arekar, Abhay Shriram Ramteke (35), Bhaurao Ramchandra Mojhe (62), and Madan Bhaiyaji Kale (49) along with other 40-50 persons had gathered at the hospital.

The seven accused and other persons vent their anger at two police constables Gomkar and Vijay who had gone to the hospital for investigation. The two cops were manhandled by the seven accused and the mob who vociferously objected to post-mortem of deceased Sagar. The accused even directly took away with them the body Sagar by creating ruckus at the hospital. In this way the accused not only manhandled the two cops but also put hurdles in Government work by taking away the body without post-mortem.

Sakkardara PSI Fulkavar, based on the information, has booked the accused under Sections 353, 186, 188, 143, 147, 148, 149 of Indian Penal Code and investigating the matter further.
