Jodhpur/ Nagpur: Senior BJP leader Dr Subramanyam Swami alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi had got the case of rape fabricated against Asaram under a well planned conspiracy. The conspiracy was made against Asram because he was then launching a drive against faith- conversion (proselytization) in Gujarat.
It may be mentioned that Asaram in lodged in Jodhpur jail on the charges of rape of a minor.
Swami on Monday net Asram in Jodhapur Central Jail and talked to him for about an hour. It was after meeting Asram in jail, Swami alleged that Asaram was falsely involved in the case at the behest of Sonia Gandhi, because he had launched a drive against faith-conversion (proselytization) into Christianity. According to Swami, first of all he would get him released from jail and later get all false cases withdrawn against him.
He also said, the complainant girl had not alleged in the FIR that she was raped. Her allegation in the FIR was Asaram had just touched her, and there was no witness to it.
Swami told the media that he would appear in court for Asaram after Diwali vacation, and once again move his bail petition in the court. Earlier, Asram’s bail application was rejected as there was no statement of a much sought after woman witness. But now, that woman’s statement has been recorded. The woman has made statement in favour of Asaram. Therefore, there is every possibility of Asram’s bailing out, Swami hoped, adding that he would be collecting facts anew.
