Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology Celebrates Kargil Victory Day

Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology celebrated Kargil Victory Day on July 26 in memory of the martyrs of the Kargil War. Large number of teachers and students took part and paid homage to the martyrs by lighting candles in the memory of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the cause of motherland in 1999 Kargil war. Col. Vaidya was Chief Guest of the function.
While addressing the gathering Col Vaidya highlighted the importance of professionalism, in-depth knowledge, fearlessness, discipline and physical fitness as qualities that soldiers possess and are equally important for the students. He elaborated upon the adversities of whether and terrain in which this war was fought.
Col. Amol Bhaduri exhorted the students to find time to take inspiration from the sacrifices and valour of army-men in safeguarding our borders.
The other dignitaries who shared their experiences were Wing Commander Jehangir Contractor, Wing Commander Mukund Limaye and Anuradha Deo.
Principal of the institute Dr. Vivek Nanoti appealed the students to imbibe the virtue of patriotism on this occasion. The programme was compered Sahiba Kaur who herself participated in Republic Parade twice and was adjudged as the best cadet of 2014 parade. The coordinators of the programme were Dr. Sumita Rao and Prof. Bhumika Agrawal.
