Prisoner escapes from hospital; Police fails to track

Nagpur: The Nagpur Police seems to be going through a ‘rough time’. On one hand several questions are being on its performance after analysis of the fact that various infamous criminals remain absconding and on the other, it has landed in a fresh controversy after an imate under custody has been reported to have escaped from Medical hospital where he was being treated after he reported of bad health.

Shankar Rao Baisware alias Sonu, was imprisoned in Central Jail in after being convicted in a robbery case. Recently, he complained of bad health after which he was admitted to the ward number 36 of Medical Hospital for treatment. The whole episode occured when the two policemen deployed for keeping an eye on Baisware, left him unattended. The convict went to washroom and the policemen instead of guarding at the door went to visit the washroom themselves. As soon as Baisware came out, he enchased the chance and escaped.

The whole police department was, later, deployed after him only to fail. As he is addicted to smoking Ganja, the distributors were also contacted. It is to be mentioned that more than 25 serious cases are registered against the absconder. Thanks to Nagpur Police, he was roaming free untill teh report was written. The case has posed even more serious questions on the performance and accountability of city police. The two policemen have been suspended and the search operations are being done.
