Rapper and composer Honey Singh has been grabbing the headlines across city media for quite some time now, thanks to the pending police inquiry against him in view of the petition filed against him in which he has been alleged to be propagating vulgarity through his obscene song lyrics. However Nagpur police have sought some more time from the Nagpur bench of Mumbai High Court to present details in this regard. Admitting the police request, a joint bench comprising Justice Bhushan Gavai and Justic VM Deshpande has posted the hearing for next week.

Cops have informed in the last hearing that they had met Honey Singh’s personal secretary and lawyer during their visit to Delhi, and soon they would reach the rapper.

It may be mentioned here that the petitioner Anand Pal Singh has stated in his petition that the dirty lyrics in the songs rendered by Honey Singh is detrimental to atmosphere in the society and causing negative impact on young generation.

The petitioner had earlier moved Panchpaoli police station to lodge a complaint, however he was turned down by the cops. He then approached city police commissioner who too allegedly refused to conduct any inquiry against the singer. Later he moved the district court which ordered action against Honey Singh. He said the police ended the case without any action against the singer. Finally he had to move High Court to seek necessary action in this regard.
