Nagpur: Union Surface Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister and Nagpur MP Nitin Gadkari on Friday (May 27) celebrated his 58th birthday at his Mahal-based residence. A galaxy of prominent personalities from all walks of life lined up to greet the ‘Birthday Boy.” The ‘Gadkari Wada’ was flooded with BJP workers and citizens as well to greet their leader.
However, the first person to phone and extend his greetings to Gadkari was none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gadkari received a phone call from Modi at 6.30 am and was wished on his birthday. Modi also twitted :

Thereafter, it was a deluge of greetings from the dignitaries. Yog Guru Baba Ramdeo, Art of Loving founder and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal among several others phoned Gadkari and extended their birthday greetings to him. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and former Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde too phoned Gadkari and wished him.
Fadnavis visits Gadkari’s house:
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the house of Nitin Gadkari and greeted him his birthday. Both the leaders had lunch together. State BJP President Raosaheb Danve too visited Gadkari’s house and greeted him.
All the Party MLAs from city, several MPs and other legislators from the State too descended on Gadkari Wada personally and met Gadkari. Incidentally, the NDA Government led by Modi too completed two years of its rule on May 26. Similarly, Union Law Minister Sadanand Gowda and Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Nihalchand Meghwal were in Nagpur for interaction with citizens at a programme. Both of them too visited Gadkari’s house and extended their birthday greetings to him.
