Perfect blend of business and technology will script success story, says Polaris Sr. Vice President Rahul Petkar

A galaxy of entrepreneurs, business professionals and students from across the city attended the ‘Global Leadership Talk on Future of Global Outsourcing -Trends’ organized by VNIT Alumni Association at VNIT premises.  Rahul Petkar,  Senior Vice President of Polaris Financial Technology Canada, Inc delivered the keynote address. The company is a leading provider of financial technology products for the banking industry.

While talking to Nagpur Today, Rahul Petkar shared his 26-year industry experience. Beginning with, Petkar said he had his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He later earned an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is a member of the Canada-India Business Council and Talent Ideals & Enterprise. He is also a Charter Member of Chapter: Tie Toronto.

Rahul Petkar further said the Polaris Financial Technology Canada, Inc. is a leading provider of financial technology products for the banking industry and has sprawling set up of skill. With the expansion of company, initiatives into the global forefront led to development of new businesses in Canada and entrepreneurship. “I thrive as a business leader with growing talents in the areas of wealth management, brokerage and retail consumer banking, and am currently in charge of managing financial technology, co-starting the Canadian and Latin American operations of the business, and developing partnerships within the financial industry with over 26 years of industry experience.”

Rahul Petkar said that he interacted with the students and his colleagues on the topic ‘Future of Global Outsourcing’ by quoting lines said by famous player of Ice Hockey, Wayne Gretzky, that “Skate to where the puck will be and not where it is.” In a message to Nagpur’s youth, Petkar said, “Today’s youth are extremely talented and passionate. There is pool of talent in Nagpur and youth know what is better to happen. The world has tremendous opportunity and technology is changing rapidly. One has to look at future concluding that whatever worked in past be not be in future.”

“World is flat; companies are looking for people with the learning skills, inquisitive and curious mind. We have to improvise our entire life and re-skill ourselves. If business and technology combines, it leads to success. Youth should be encouraged to join IT sectors and industries for the development of future India,” said the Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Financial Technology Canada, Inc.

At the outset, Shashikant Chaudhary, President, VNIT Alumni Association, started the programme by spreading word of all the wonderful undertakings by the Association. Abdul Zuber presented the concept of a modern Wardha IT Park while  Isha Gupta, Event Secretariat for Global Nagpur Summit 2014, proposed a vote of thanks with special mention to the VNIT Alumni Association and the various partners of Nagpur First. She also thanked the speakers, the audience and the partners for their support. The next talk was dated for the second week of October and would be delivered by Mohan Uttarwar, an entrepreneur from Silicon Valley.
