Pedestrian crossing Wardha-Nagpur road killed by truck

Nagpur News : Hanuman Jayanti Prasad costs life of an elderly man who was hit by a rashly driven truck on Tuesday night. The accident took place under the jurisdiction of Sonegaon police station.

The 62-year-old Prasad Shirpat Mohite, a resident of Aamgaon, Wardha was crossing Wardha-Nagpur road, near Parsoli village on foot to get the Hanuman jayanti prasad. However, a rashly driven truck (MH 31 CQ 5244) came from the opposite direction and hit the old man. Mohite was killed on the spot with the impact of the accident. The truck driver fled the spot after the accident.

Commuters informed Sonegaon police who reached immediately on the spot and performed panchanama of the body. Later, the body was sent to Government Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 304 (a), 279 read with sub sections 143, 177 and 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
