The Indian security forces patrolling the Mendhar area in Jammu and Kashmir, close to the Pakistan border, gunned down an ultra during an encounter on the night of July 14. The killed terrorist is the one who, in conspiracy with Pakistani rangers, had shot dead two Indian soldiers, Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh, during the cross-border encounter, and beheading both of them, he had taken their cut heads to Pakistan. The terrorist is identified as Anwar, informed the sources.

The heart-rending incident had occurred on January 8, 2013 when certain Pakistani rangers joined with terrorists resorted to cross-border firing. While retaliating the firing, when Indian jawans, Hemraj (L/Nk) and Sudhakar Singh succumbed to bullet injuries, the terrorists beheaded both of them and took their heads to Pakistan.

The said terrorist, Anwar, was gunned down on the night of July 14 when he along with other terrorists was trying to enter the Indian border on Mendhar, J&K. The other terrorists somehow managed to escape.

Reacting sharply, martyr Hemraj’s 11-year old daughter, Shivani and 9-year old son Prince asked whether Indian jawans would also behead the gunned down terrorist as he had to their father. When their mother replied in negative, the children became nervous.
