Online system is easier for candidates to file nominations for NMC poll: Hardikar

The Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar on Tuesday said that the online system has made it easier of contesting candidates to file their nominations for NMC poll. The NMC organized a workshop for providing guidance to different political parties and election officials over online nomination system.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Additional Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, Deputy Commissioner Ravindra Deotale, Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Dhamecha, all Election Officers, Assistant Election officers and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Hardikar said that according to State Election Commission filing of nomination papers online has been made compulsory for NMC poll. For the process to run smoothly, each election officer has been given proper training. Recently, the online nomination system has achieved 100 percent success in smaller Municipal Corporations. That way, the system will be successful in NMC elections, hoped Hardikar.

“The online system has made it easier of contesting candidates to file their nominations for NMC poll. The nomination can be filed in English or Marathi. The system is very simple and after filling up of four pages, the candidates will be required to submit their nominations to Election Officer in the specified format,” said Hardikar.

A presentation on entire process of filing nominations online was done through a projector on the occasion.

Affidavit must:
The candidates contesting NMC poll will have to submit an affidavit mandatorily. The affidavit must mention criminal background if any, income details, educational qualifications, details of sons and daughters, income tax return etc. otherwise the nominations will not be accepted.
