Nagpur News: One person was killed and another suffered critical injuries when the Honda Activa they were riding in was hit by a rashly driven truck on Umred Road in Nagpur. The accident occurred at about 3 pm on Saturday. The truck driver has been arrested.
According to police, the victims Pawan Rajendra Magar (30), resident of Chetan Nagar Slums and Sudhakar Kale (around 50-60 years of age) were going towards Vihirgaon on Umred Road on their Honda Activa (MH-31/CF 0129). When both, Pawan and Sudhakar, reached in front of Friends Paan Thela, the truck, driven recklessly by Rajendra Janrao Thakre (35), resident of Plot No. 137, Bahadura Sant Gajanan Maharaj Society, Nagpur, collided head-on with the Honda Activa. As a result of forceful impact, both Pawan and Sudhakar received critical injuries. However, Sudhakar died on the spot. Pawan was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital where he battling for life.
Sakkardara police have registered an offence under Sections 279, 334, 338, 304(A) of the IPC and Sub-Sections 134, 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and arrested the truck driver Rajendra Janrao Thakre. PSI Netam is investigating the matter further.
