One more swine flu patient detected in GMCH

Yet another patient has been found Swine Flu positive and has been admitted in ICU Ward of Nagpur’s Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The past three days of incessant rain and the cloudy atmosphere has created conducive environment for the bacteria of swine flu and the disease threatens to spread in large proportions.

The 38-year-old patient, who is resident of Deshpande Layout, tested positive for swine flu. After the symptoms, the patient was admitted in the Swine Flu Ward of GMCH on Sunday. On Monday, his throat fluid samples were sent to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo) for laboratory testing. His report was confirmed positive. Now, he is admitted in the ICU Ward of GMCH.

The number of patients found positive for swine flu has risen to seven so far. Three patients died of the dreaded disease between January and November this year. Deceased include a doctor from Gondia district and Smita Awle (33), resident of Nandanvan, Nagpur and Shushma Mishra (38), resident of Parshioni.
